چکیده

The 101– 000 rotational transition of the HCS radical in the X̃ A8 ground electronic state has been observed with a Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectrometer in combination with a pulsed discharge nozzle. The radical is produced by discharging a mixture of CH4 and H2S diluted in Ar. Six fine and hyperfine components are detected, and the effective rotational constant, spin–rotation interaction constant, and hyperfine interaction constants are determined accurately. The Fermi contact term of the hydrogen nucleus is found to be much smaller than that for the isovalent radical, HCO, indicating that the HCS radical is more close to a linear structure than the HCO radical. © 1998 American Institute of Physics. @S0021-9606~98!01521-9#

Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectroscopy of the ethyl radical in the electronic ground state.

The pure rotational spectrum of the ethyl radical (C2H5) has been detected for the first time with the Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectrometer. The ethyl radical is produced by discharging the C2H5I gas diluted in Ar. The 1(01)-0(00) rotational transition of the ethyl radical is observed in the frequency range from 43,680 to 43,780 MHz. The observed spectrum shows a very complicated patt...

Microwave Spectrum of the FCO Radical in the (2)A' Electronic Ground State.

The 1(01)-0(00), 2(02)-1(01), and 3(03)-2(02) rotational transitions of the FCO radical are observed at 22.3, 44.5, and 66.8 GHz, respectively, using a Fourier transform millimeter-wave spectrometer with a pulsed discharge nozzle. The FCO radical is produced by discharging F(2)CO diluted in the Ar buffer gas. Twelve fine and hyperfine components for the three transitions are observed, and the e...

Design and evaluation of a pulsed-jet chirped-pulse millimeter-wave spectrometer for the 70-102 GHz region.

Chirped-pulse millimeter-wave (CPmmW) spectroscopy is the first broadband (multi-GHz in each shot) Fourier-transform technique for high-resolution survey spectroscopy in the millimeter-wave region. The design is based on chirped-pulse Fourier-transform microwave (CP-FTMW) spectroscopy [G. G. Brown, B. C. Dian, K. O. Douglass, S. M. Geyer, S. T. Shipman, and B. H. Pate, Rev. Sci. Hyperfine structure of the Sic radical

The millimeter-wave rotational spectrum of the free 2’?SiC radical in the X 311 ground state, produced in a low-pressure glow discharge through SiH, and CO, was detected with the same reactive-molecule spectrometer used earlier to detect Sic and Si13C. Eleven rotational transitions, all but two with resolved hyperfine structure, were measured between 195 GHz (J = 4+ 5) and 372 GHz (J = 8 --+ 9)...
